March 1966 - the Chernivtsi branch of the Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade was transferred to the Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics (Decree of the Ministry of Trade of the Ukrainian SSR No.125 "On the Organization of the Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics");

since 1969 up to 1974 - training was carried out in the evening, correspondence and daytime forms of training;

in 1987 - the Correspondence Faculty of the Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics was created in the city of Chernivtsi;

in 1992 - The Faculty of Postgraduate Education was opened at the Correspondence Faculty of the KITE;

in 1999 - the Correspondence Faculty was reorganized into the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of the Kyiv State University of Trade and Economics (Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No.126 dated April 30, 1999, Order of the Rector of KSUTE No.718 dated May 28,1999);

in 2022 - Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics was reorganized into the State University of Trade and Economics (Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated November 19, 2021 No.1252 "On the reorganization of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics", Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated January 21, 2022 No.43 "On some issues of reorganization of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics", Order of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics dated January 25, 2022 No.374). Accordingly, the Institute acquired the name of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of the State University of Trade and Economics.

Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of the State University of Trade and Economics is one of the leading and promising higher education institutions in the western region of Ukraine.

The History of the Institute dates back to 1966. Over the decades, the educational institution has developed steadily, combining the best educational traditions with modern innovative approaches.

In 2021, the ChITE SUTE marked a significant milestone by celebrating the 55th anniversary of its establishment. This event encapsulated the institution's long-term trajectory of development, characterized by the integration of classical educational traditions, the achievements of successive generations, and the incorporation of advanced technologies into the educational process. In the subsequent year, the Institute will commemorate its 60th anniversary—an important landmark in its history of formation and advancement, symbolizing another step toward new achievements, innovations, and the continuous enhancement of educational quality.

The Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE possesses a modern material and technical infrastructure to ensure a high-quality educational process. Studies are conducted in three academic buildings located in the central part of the city. Non-local students are provided with the opportunity to reside in a dormitory. The Institute hosts the following units:

• office for the students' independent studies;
• multimedia offices;
• language laboratories;
• 8 laboratories (neuroresearch and information security; marketing ideas; design and automation of service and production processes; restaurant production technology and equipment; hotel service management; restaurant service management; food technologies, standardization, certification, metrology, and quality management; beverage technology and bartending; restaurant technology studio-laboratory);

Student scientific groups, professional schools, and special-interest clubs are actively functioning at the Institute. These include scientific groups («Marketer», «Search», «Financier», «Accountant's Advisor», «Profi»), professional schools (the Bartender School, the Culinary Art and Service School, the Confectionery School, the School of Healthy Lifestyle, the School of Hospitality), as well as the tourist club «Plai».

Faculty and students of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ academic mobility programs, international internships, conferences, round tables, and other activities. Such participation contributes to improving the quality of teaching, gaining experience in studying at foreign higher education institutions, comparing different aspects of the educational process abroad and in Ukraine through direct involvement, enhancing professional skills and competencies, adapting more effectively to new environments, and establishing new professional contacts.

The Institute maintains contractual partnerships with higher education institutions from Poland, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Georgia, Latvia, Moldova, Northern Cyprus, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and other countries.
